Founded in 2025, The City of Liverpool Gins was established with a deep-rooted passion to celebrate Liverpool – its people, history, culture, and spirit. Our mission is simple: to tell the story of our beloved city through the gin we craft. Each bottle we produce is inspired by the textures, tastes, and tales of Liverpool, from its dockside grit to its creative heartbeat, its storied past to its ever-evolving present. This isn’t just gin; it’s Liverpool, distilled.

The City of Liverpool Gins is owned by The Black Pearl Distillery, founded in 2022 by Graham Patten. We are twinned with the City of Chester Gins, located on the Wirral Peninsula, just 5 miles across the River Mersey.
 
Our Gin, located in the heart of the city, champions a mission that values craftsmanship and community. As their founder and CEO, Graham Patten, states, “Bigger doesn’t always mean better.” The distillery and its entire team—from marketing to delivery drivers and cleaners—are dedicated to enriching their surroundings and standing out within their community.

Selection of Botanicals

We hand‑pick juniper berries and combine them with classic organic botanicals—including angelica, coriander, and citrus peels—to create our distinctively aromatic base for Liverpool Gin.

Infusion & Maceration

Our botanicals are carefully macerated and infused, allowing their full essence to develop before distillation—ensuring depth of flavor and complexity in every batch.

Copper Pot Distillation

Distilled in small‑batch copper pot stills, our method fuses tradition with precision.

Bottling & Finishing

Once distilled, the spirit is rigorously quality‑checked and bottled on‑site. We seal in freshness, capturing the vibrant citrus notes and warm, lingering juniper finish for your enjoyment.
